BEAUTY: Winter Hair Savers

Back with another haircare post today as I’ve noticed recently that my hair isn’t looking its best in this cold weather. This, coupled with it needing a good chop and the fact that I’ve started swimming again (chlorine, ew), equals very unhappy ends and locks that are in need of a bit of TLC. So, in today’s post, I’m gonna run through a few things I like using as treats when my hair is looking a little worse for wear.

Treatments are my first port of call, as they’re easy to shove on in the shower, wait for 10minutes while you get squeaky clean, and then rinse out. My top pick at the moment has to be Bleach London Reincarnation Mask; despite being aimed at dyed hair, it works wonders on mine. I just apply it to the last third and ta-da, silky hair that feels a bit more normal.

I’ve been trying really hard to apply oils and serums before drying it, especially when my hair is tied up, to seal in some moisture. I know a lot of people opt for things like pure avocado and pure argan oil (like the ones available from SimplyHair) as they’re ultra-nourishing and work great as a mask; as I have quite fine hair, I find that it’s best to only apply them every other time I wash my locks. My favourites at the moment have to be the Bumble and Bumble Hairdressers Invisible Oil and Moroccan Oil Light, and I apply just one drop evenly though the ends for smooth hair. I also love leave-in treatments, such as the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave-In Conditioner (bargain!) and the Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave-In Conditioner – they both smell divine and add a lot of moisture back into the hair, making it shiny and more manageable!

Nothing beats getting a chop though, and I can’t wait for mine in January! So, that’s what I’ve been using on my hair recently as well as trying to keep the heat tools to a minimum – what do you use to save your hair during the Winter?
