beauty haul: taking advantage of ASOS and others

hello! i have a haul post for you today, as i took full advantage of ASOS’s 20% off beauty discount day, much to the dismay of my paypal account! i accidentally forgot to include what i bought from dior in the above photo, so that’s shoved in at the end. i’ve had most of these products (especially the NARS ones) on my wishlist since before their last discount day, so it’s been a long time coming!

anyways, on with what i bought and my initial opinions…

i feel like i needed to have some sort of heavenly music in the background when i opened these, as i’ve been waiting literal months to get them! i actually have one more (amour) coming in the post, but it hasn’t been dispatched yet so just pretend it’s there! this is the first time i’ve ever used NARS blushers (here), so clockwise from left i bought:

outlaw: so pigmented on first swatch, it’s a beautiful rasberry pink tone with a slight gold shimmer which doesn’t show up too strongly! i’m not a fan of shimmer, so that’s a plus for me.

sin: a lovely berry tone which i feel like i’ll be pairing with similar toned lipstick, such as MAC craving or a dark red like dubonnet.

douceur: this it the blush that’s been on my wishlist the longest! it’s just a nice matte, dusty shade and is just perfect. can’t wait to use it!

luster: this is a ever so slightly shimmery peachy nude shade, which sounds strange but it’s honestly really pretty.

maui multiple (here): i’m quite surprised how much product you get in these, which, for the cost, is definitely a good thing! it’s a slightly midtone-darker pink which is quite matte.

yes, more blushers, i barely own any so you can forgive me, right? i remember seeing these stila convertible colour blush’s (here) ages ago and added them to my wishlist, so i’m quite glad i’ve got them now. the colours i bought are:
lilium: this looks peach in the pan but it actually leans more pink on the skin, which is fine with me as it’s a gorgeous colour!
rose: the clue is in the title with this one. it looks bright red initially, but blended out it’s just a fresh apple-y shade. so, so nice!

i added this pixi early bird set (here) to my basket at the last minute, as i thought it’d be a great multi-tasker for when i’m at my boyfriends or on my trip to marrakech (3 weeks, yayy).

i’ve swatched all of them on my hand and the darker eyeshadows are beautiful! i just hope they have good lasting power!

i seem to have an addiction to buying shower gel recently and of course, i felt obliged to add to my collection. i’m a sucker for anything sweet or warm scented like almond or cinnamon, they’re my favourites! so, buying korres vanilla cinnamon shower gel (here, oh my god it smells amazing) and l’occitane almond shower oil (here, also amazing) was pretty much a given.

i bought ren’s resurfacing AHA concentrate (here) as a sort of replacement for my liquid gold, as they do pretty much the same thing and the latter has nearly run out. so, i’m quite excited to try it as i do love my overnight exfoliators.

i am a self confessed lip balm junkie and usually have about 2 or 3 in my bag at any one time. i have dry, chapped lips all year round (worse in winter, vaguely better in summer) so i have to use a lot of product to keep on top of it. i’ve nearly bought korres lip butters (here) on so many occasions, but for some reason just never did. they both smell amazing and, having tried the mandarin stick in peach (here) earlier, i can confirm that they do feel lovely on! as for the malin + goetz one (here), i just really love mojito’s so added it on a whim haha. they also do candles, which i really want to try out if i ever have £30+ to spend on one (i’ll justify it somehow).

the l’occitane gift set (here) is for my mum for xmas as she absolutely loves their hand cream! i bought my sister the tropicoral gift set from benefit (here), which you can see the inside of here and i really hope she loves it as i want it for myself!
yay for cheap essie polishes! i bought these four from xtras online for only £2.99 and i think it’s put me off buying full price high-end polish ever again. the shades i bought are: blue rhapsody (metallic silver-blue), nothing else metals (a metallic lilac-purple), penny talk (a metallic rose-gold) and good as gold (which is, well, a gold).

aaand here we have the eyeshadow palette that i couldn’t get off my mind! i was going to ask my parents for it for xmas, but i couldn’t physically wait that long. i actually had quite a strange experience buying this too. i ended up being swept into a room i didn’t know existed in fenwicks, to sit with about other 8 people in silence whilst a dior makeup artist was talking through all of their products. i had to awkwardly leave after 15minutes as i was meeting my boyfriend, so i sort of had to shuffle out. it was just plain weird but i did get a little gift bag out of it! i already have the 100ml version of miss dior so i was quite pleased with the mini to shove in my bag!
as for the palette itself, go to a dior counter and swatch it as it is absolutely stunning! i bought 524 ‘night golds’ and although it doesn’t show up so well on camera, the sparkly gold in the top right-hand corner is like finely milled glitter without being tacky. so, so beautiful!
so, that’s what i bought! i’ve put other recent purchases on my instagram if you’d like to follow for more photos (username: thelovecatsinc).
let me know what you think! did you take advantage of ASOS’s discount day?
