hello! i don’t think i’ve went a day without cat-eye eyeliner flicks since i was about 15 or 16, so a good eyeliner is a must. i have quite small, naturally sort of hooded (my friends once said i apparently have ‘asian eyes’, which i wish was true) eyes so i find i have to pull them up with a bit of eyeliner. i’ve tried loads out over the years, everything from gels to pencils to felt pen styles, so here’s the ones i don’t mind using…
mua felt eyeliner pen in black: here. for the £2 or so that this costs, it’s really not that bad. you might need to swipe over it a few times to make it really black, but the lasting power is actually ok. i use this one as a back-up incase my others run out.
MAC khol pencil in smoulder: here. one of my first ever eyeliners which i actually stopped buying because i always lose them! it’s one of MAC’s staple pieces i think and works really well both on the lid and on the waterline.
stila stay all day eyeliner pen in black: here. my current favourite eyeliner, as you may tell from the label being completely gone. as the title suggests, it really does stay all day! it’s opaque black in one swipe and this particular one, without showing any signs of running out yet, has lasted me a whopping 9 months so far! total value for money.
urban decay 24/7 khol pencil: here. this came with my smoked palette and, as i’ve never used a urban decay eyeliner before, i was really impressed with this! on my waterline, it stays on for quite a while and doesn’t just end up in the corner of my eyes. if i wore anything other than black, i’d probably pick up a few more shades!
topshop eyeliner pen in black: here. i adore this eyeliner! this one has ran out now but i will buy a new one as soon as i next go to topshop. it stays put without moving, it’s really black and lasted me for a good 7 months with every day use. you really can’t complain.
i know the swatches seem pretty similar, but hopefully you can see how intense the eyeliners are in two swipes! stila is definitely the darkest pen and MUA the lightest, whereas i think MAC and urban decay are pretty similar for pencils.
