photo diary: rome, day one and two

drinks at the hotel bar. they don’t seem to have measures in italy so this single amaretto and coke was more like a triple. the bf got about half a bottle of wine in one glass as the waiter seems to like us…
hello! i’m still in rome until thursday but i thought i would do a little (probably quite image heavy) post of the first two days. we’ve done the typical tourist things and wandered all over, but today my bf is at work so i’m in our hotel attempting to do some uni work. …though i might just blog and film a youtube instead. anyways, on with the images!

i flew over in jeans and a jumper, nothing interesting, so the first outfit is what i wore on the first night to go out for some food.
outfit deets: topshop shirt and leather jacket, zara skort and bag, primark shoes, MK watch and H&M necklace. i also shoved some MAC red lipstick on before i left.

day two evening outfit to go for food with the bf’s work colleagues (daytime outfit is below).

so, we set off for a wander and in search of a restaurant on the evening. italy loves themselves some fountains. this was next to the st regis hotel, which looked amaaazing.

we found ourselves a restaurant (it was called target) and lad lobster with pasta, which was one of the nicest things i’ve ever eaten.

according to the menu this was ‘cream crumble pastry’, which turned out to be layers of italian pastry with vanilla cream and chocolate sauce. mmm.

we finished our food and went for more of a wander. see what i mean about the fountains.

italian buildings always look so pretty lit up at night.

standard tourist style photo’s a plenty.

day two we decided to go to the colosseum and passed many pretty buildings on the way

src=”http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a554/thelovecatsinc/today131h_zpsda8bb7f4.jpg” width=”600″ />

and other pretty places

until we got there buuut we didn’t go inside as it decided to start raining and it was so busy. i don’t mean just a light shower, i mean a torrential downpour. luckily it’s still warm when this happens, so it wasn’t too bad really.

i did actually force the bf to take photos for all of my outfits so far, but as the two above were at night, the streetlights made me look really yellow so they had to be scrapped. at least i’ve got one decent outfit photo so far though. that umbrella was a life saver! my isabel marant boots were not amused and got completely drenched though, they’re still drying out on the windowsill as i type :(

outfit deets: zara playsuit and bag, topshop jacket, isabel marant dicker boots

anyways, we went down next to the colosseum and around that area. as the rain wasn’t letting up, we got the metro back to the stop near our hotel to get changed so we could go to lunch.

we wandered along the streets near our hotel, which were full of restaurants and lovely buildings. and the back of the bf’s head.

declared that i want to live on the top floor of this building just for its little roof garden.

in the evening, we went out for food with the bf’s work to one of the oldest restaurants in italy. we went past the trevi fountain which is insanely beautiful!

src=”http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a554/thelovecatsinc/today131n_zps53a58d2c.jpg” width=”600″ />

at the restaurant we had bruschetta with loads of tomatoes, which was so so nice and then i had arrabbiata because i just had to. it’s one of my favourite pasta dishes and it was yummm.

bf and i left a little bit early so we could wander around and by the time we came out of the restaurant, the trevi fountain was all lit up. how pretty!

so that’s all my photos, sorry if it’s a bit much but every street is a photo op around here. i might do a part two post if i take some more snaps, but for now i shall be sat here trying not to eat the three remaining chocolate croissants in our hotel room.
