Hello! I was sorting out my skincare stash the other day and realised I have a bit of a theme going in my mask collection: Blemish fighting masks. Although my skin has improved recently, even though I’m not sure how as I haven’t changed anything, I still use one of these masks once or twice a week just to deeply cleanse my skin and help with blackheads.
So, I’ve picked five of these blemish busting masks, from each end of the budget spectrum, so you can pick which one would suit you best.
Under £10 | The cheapest one from the list is the wonderful Amie Spring Clear Cooling Clay Mask (£5.95), which is a minty green colour and is quite thick on application. It has a minty fragrance, but does dry down quite nicely and leaves skin feeling very refreshed. Next is the Sanctuary 5min Thermal Detox Mask (£7 on offer at the moment) which is more of a charcoal mask and warms on contact with the skin. You need a face cloth to remove with one, but it does leave you with more refined and purified looking skin. Finally it’s the Una Brennan Tea Flower Deep Clean Pore Purifying Clay Mask (£8.99, what a mouthful too!), which has a floral scent but is a great standard clay mask that works to soothe and clam down blemishes and helps them heal quicker.
Over £10 | First up is the much blogged about Origins Clear Improvement Mask, which, like the Sanctuary one, is charcoal based mask which really dries solid. You can barely move your face when it’s on, but when you remove it with a hot cloth is makes your skin look so good! It really evens your skin out and minimises pores, plus you don’t need much of it so a tube lasts quite a while! The other over £10 option is the wonderful Elemental Herbology Facial Detox Mask which is one of my all time favourites. It does exactly what you want a clay mask to do: fights blemishes, reduces redness, clears out pores and really ‘detoxes’ the skin to make it more clear and bright.
So, they’re all my favourite blemish fighting masks. My all time favourite one has to be the REN Invisible Pores Detox Mask, but I’ve just ran out of it so I’ll have to restock! Hope this post has been helpful, getting a clay based mask will help your skin no matter what your skin type, even if you just want to make sure it’s had a really deep clean once a week!
What’s your favourite face mask? Any others I should know about?
