I hear ya: ‘but you haven’t been to America, Helen?’ You’d be quite correct. Unfortunately I haven’t been lucky enough to jet off to the USA, but the wonderful Lucy (check out her blog) did and was oh so kind enough to bring me some things back. Lots of blogger love for that gurl as she got me some cult products I’ve wanted to try for an absolute age!
First up is a product that needs barely introduction, as it’s such a hyped up beauty buy in the bblogger world. The Lorac Pro Palette has a mix of matte and metallic shades and I’ll admit I’m scared to use it, as I’ve wanted it for so long and it’s so pretty! I love how convenient the size is, as it’s perfect to put in a makeup bag without taking up too much space. My favourite shades have to be Nude, Mauve and Pewter, as they’ll make a beautiful Autumn eye look. I’m so excited to try this out!
Next are three products from Tarte, which are a brand that people just can’t seem to recommend enough if you’re ever in the US. Lucy kindly got me the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation (shade Ivory), which I’ve been using every day since it landed on my doorstep. It’s got medium-full coverage but feels quite light on the skin (it doesn’t have the EL Double Wear want-to-claw-your-face-off feel after 8hrs) and lasts a good 8-10hrs before wearing off. I fancied this foundation since there was the whole Tarte in the UK hype and it hasn’t disappointed me!
Two of the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in the shades Blissful (a coral) and Dollface (a pink). They look quite bright in the pan, but you can apply them as heavily as you like for a natural flush or pop of colour look. They last about 6-8hrs on me (definitely not the 12hrs claimed!) but they’re seriously beautiful shades and the texture of them is gorgeous too. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to pick up some more!
So that’s everything the lovely Lucy got me and I’m so pleased they’re part of my collection now. I’m coveting so many other American goodies now that I may have to plan a trip there myself…
