BEAUTY: A Valentine’s Day Look

Apologies for the slightly grainy top image! I can’t wait for it to be summer so it’s light all of the time and that issue can be avoided without fiddling on with my camera for a lifetime. But alas, it’s February which means cold and dark and also: Valentine’s Day! Now, I may not be keen on the whole lovey-dovey rubbish, but I do like the idea of throwing on a good red lip for the sake of lurve. So, today’s post is what I’d pull out of my makeup bag for the big day.

Starting with my base, I went for my beloved RMK Creamy Foundation because it covers literally every flaw, feels nice on the skin and lasts for hours and hours. It’s an all round amazing product and one to look out for if you find EL Double Wear a bit heavy. On my cheeks, I used a bit of NARS Blush in Amour, because the name is oh so appropriate and also because it’s a beautiful pink shade to wear! It looks very natural on and it’s very flattering, I think.

For my eyes, I popped on some MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection. Not for the colour, as it’s a champagne-pinky kinda shade, but because it makes a great base and adds a layer of metallic shimmer to the lid. Over this, I used my MAC palette, focusing on Woodwinked all over the lid, Mystery in the crease and Shroom in the inner corner. I adore these three shades for a gold, slightly smokey eye. I then slicked on some Guerlain Liquid Eyeliner and applied a good 2 coats of Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara for length and a bit of drama!

Finally, you can’t do V-Day without a good red lip, and I went for an orange tinted one by the name of NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square. It’s long lasting and applies beautifully, perfect for that obviously super hot date you’ll be going on, as it’s smooch proof.
