FASHION: NE1’s Fashion Futures

Sorry for the image heavy post, but everything was so beautiful I couldn’t not share. So, here we have two catwalks from the amazing two day event I attended last week as an official blogger *sassy face*. NE1’s Fashion Futures, hosted at the Baltic on the lovely Newcastle quayside, featured three main events: the Northumbria Uni graduation show (their 60th year too!), a fashion talk with Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman and Henry Holland (plus others, more on that in another post) and the Fashion Front Row Catwalk Show with lots of local talent to feast your eyes on.

The above is from the latter, featuring an array of amazing local designers including sponsors Terry De Havilland and their beautiful shoes, the amazing latex designs from Dayne Henderson (who designed Gaga’s insane octopus costume) and an utterly stunning bridal collection from Kathryn Russell. The underwear collection from Tallulah Love was definitely one to see too, as I met the designer (and creator) and she’s such a lovely person. Please do check out all of their collections and support small businesses if you can!

Next, which you can find below, were the creations from the amazingly talented Northumbria University.I wish I could have wrote down every designers name, but operating a camera and a phone at the same time meant I kept missing it when it was on the screen, so apologies for not mentioning anyone in particular.

The stand out pieces to me were that absolutely stunning floor length red dress which I need to own, and the super chic and minimal white dress. I loved so many pieces, as the detail from printwork to embellishment was something to be admired. I think Northumbria Uni should be super proud of their students, as they’re such a creative bunch and they’ll all go so far!

I really enjoyed my two days at NE1’s Fashion Futures! As someone who doesn’t get to go to London Fashion Week, it’s fantastic seeing a proper catwalk first hand and being able to see the work that goes into these collections in person. I’ll be posting all about the talks with Alexandra Shulman and Henry Holland later (probably next week once I type it up) so please do keep your eyes peeled for that!

Make sure you’ve entered my USA beauty giveaway, ft Lorac, Tarte and more.
