My 2017 Beauty Favourites

beauty-favourites-of-2017

As I said in my 2017 style favourites, it's so nice to look back on the things you've been using throughout the year.  You can really figure out what products worked for you and I know there's been a few 'can't live without' gems have graced my bedside table and makeup bag this year. I feel like I've been a bit neglectful of the beauty side of my blog over the past six months or so, as I work from home so I don't really think about testing new makeup, but I suppose the plus side is that I really enjoy using the products I do use as I rarely change them!

I will be stepping up the beauty side of my blogging in 2018 though, as I'm determined to test out as much as I can and improve my skin further! So, onto my favourites...

Elemis Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil

B U Y   H E R E   | There's only ever been four skincare products I've needed to repurchase ASAP and this Elemis treatment is one of them. I did talk about it in this post but it's my favourite nighttime treatment for smooth, glowy and plump skin by the morning.

Kiehl's Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment

B U Y   H E R E   | I religiously used the Zelens Eye Cream, but man is that stuff expensive. I was sent the Kiehl's one to test out and I'll be honest, it haven't noticed a difference! It has just as much impact on my dark circles and it does a perfect job at hydrating the eye area. I really love it!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream SPF30

B U Y   H E R E   | A new find for this year, as I previously wrote it off as being too heavy when I had acne-prone skin. But, now that it's clear and a bang-smack-in-the-middle 'normal' skin type, I find this to be the perfect level of hydration during the day. SPF 30 is a bonus too!

Pixi x Caroline Hirons Double Cleanse

B U Y   H E R E   | I'll admit, I just started using this one at the start of December but I already love it. I've gone through bottles of the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, but when I ran out, I had a little look through my samples and I'm glad I dragged this one out. The balm side is honestly one of the best balms I have ever used - it's so silky! I just want an entire tub of the balm tbh.

Jo Malone English Oak and Redcurrent Perfume

B U Y   H E R E   | Released in September, this has been the only perfume I think I've used for the last five months (as I got it in August). It has this amazing warm, woody yet fruity scent and I can't get enough of it. It's quite a unisex fragrance, but that's what I love about it as it sometimes smells quite masculine and they're my favourite kind of scents.

Jo Malone Exfoliating Shower Gel

B U Y   H E R E   | Another Jo Malone number. This is the shower gel that made me promise myself I'd buy more nice shower gels in the future. I have the Lime Basil and Mandarin scent and it's just gorgeous! You can smell the scent on your skin for a while and it makes the whole bathroom smell delicious too.

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star

B U Y   H E R E   | I feel like this is my favourite every year as I rarely use anything else, as the bottle is just so big. This stuff got me through Roaccutane last year and the warm, vanilla scent is just a dream! It's so reasonably priced that you don't ever feel bad if you slap loads on, so I try to use it every single time I shower.

NARS Narsisst Eyeshadow Palette

B U Y   H E R E   | Definitely my most used palette of the year. This came out as part of their Summer collection (but it's still available now!) and I've rarely picked up anything else since. I never used to use warm tones, as I was convinced they didn't suit me, but boy I was wrong. Give me those golds, bronze and orange tones asap!

Fenty Beauty Match Stix in Amber

B U Y   H E R E   | This has got to by my favourite product that I picked up from the Fenty Beauty line. I got a trio of the Match Stix and, as much as I like the highlighter and the concealer stick, I rarely reach for them compared to this. I've been using this gorgeous contour shade every day! It's just what you want if you're lazy like me and contouring consists of a bit under each cheekbone.

Charlotte Tilbury Bond Girl

B U Y   H E R E   | I convinced myself for so long that I didn't suit or need this shade. It wasn't until an event with the CTilbury makeup team that I actually got to try it myself and it was love. Why I thought it was brown toned I'll never know, but it's actually the perfect rosy-berry-nude that is perfect for those A/W months.

Benefit Watt's Up Hightlighter

B U Y   H E R E   | Another old favourite, but I keep going back to this one. I love cream highlighters as I think they blend so much better and look way more natural than powders. The Benefit Watt's Up is the perfect champagne hue to add light and dimension to the face without looking like a glazed doughnut.

IT Cosmetics CC Cream

B U Y   H E R E   | I bought this one months back in the shade 'light' but that's definitely more of a summer shade for me, so when their wonderful PR send me over the 'fair' shade I was so pleased! It's definitely the perfect winter shade for my ghost-like face and the formula is just so lovely. It's a medium coverage, but it doesn't look heavy or cakey. It just blends like a dream, while looking so natural and soft - I adore it!

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara

B U Y   H E R E   | Another one for good ol' S&G. I've tried quite a few mascaras this year, from the Lancome Mr Big to Urban Decay Trouble Maker and, weirdly, a high street mascara continues to beat all of them. I swear, you don't ever need to buy a high end mascara, just get yourself down to Boots and snap something up! I love this S&G one though, it's perfectly thickening, lengthening and super black.
