Easy Neutral Five-Product Face

The more I work from home, the more reluctant I am to wear heavy makeup or sit for 20 minutes applying it all. I wear makeup maybe one or two days a week so finishing a look in five minute using minimal items is something I'm very drawn to, and that's what I want to talk about today. I've been testing out some new things and using some old favourites, so let's get to it...

My Five Step Process

------------------

1. Foundation

After applying my skincare, I'll start with a foundation which also kinda doubles as a concealer. I've been trialing the new Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Stick which is great for those who can't be bothered with a liquid. It's got great coverage without being heavy and I'm good to go in just a few swipes, as it's really easy to blend. You can pat it in as concealer, too.

2. Contour/blush

I love using a multi-purpose product, don't you? The Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk (get 10% off here) ticks the box as a bit of a contour and a bit of a blush, due to it's very dusty rose hue. If I can't be bothered to use separate products, I'll blend some of this towards the backs of my cheeks and buff it into my cheekbones. It creates a bit of a shadow effect while adding warmth to the face so it's a great product to own!

3. Mascara

If I'm not bothering with anything else on my eyes, then I'll just opt for a good ol' dramatic mascara. The bigger, thicker and darker my lashes, the better. This is where the IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara comes out on top. Guys, I love this mascara. It's honestly one of the best I've used in years. It gives you mega length lashes, it doesn't flake off and it stays black all day. I'm obsessed and you need to buy it ASAP!

4. Brows

I can't believe I used to leave my brows. No powder, no pomade, no nothin'. Just a (too thin) wax and that's all I did. Urg. Now I'd rather do my brows than apply lipstick or eyeshadow. They really do make a face, guys. I typically get mine waxed and tinted at Benefit once every 4-5 weeks so they're less effort anyway, but to fill in any gaps I've been using the IT Cosmetics Brow Power. I love the ashy tone (it comes in one shade 'Universal Taupe'), plus it's quite a stiff pencil which makes for more perfect hair-like strokes and it stays around for ages too.

5. Powder/Highlight

Finally, you've to highlight them cheekbones, right? I've been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light to cover both a powder and a highlight for my minimal makeup days. These powders are just gorgeous, as they add a lit-from-within effect without ever looking cakey or dry on the skin. Sometimes I'll go for my cheekbones and t-zone, or just my cheekbones to lift my face. I love them and I need to get my mitts on their palettes asap!

What do you wear on a 5-product-face day?
