BEAUTY: Christmas Lips and Tips

I know matching your nails to your lipstick may not be the most modern concept, but there’s something about it that I really like. Especially with an all black outfit, as the shades just pop that little bit more. So, I’m going to run through my favourite combinations that I’ll be wearing over Christmas, from pinks to reds to berrys to nudes, so I hope it inspires you to get your match awwwn.

Starting with hot pink, one of my favourite nail polishes ever has to be the wonderful Topshop Nail Polish in High Voltage. It’s so intense and is opaque in two coats, making it a great choice for statement nails! I love pairing it with YSL Rouge Volupte in 10 Provocative Pink. It looks great on the lips without being too in your face, as despite how bright it looks in the tube, it’s actually quite wearable!

My favourite has to be the berry shades, an Autumn/Winter staple (of course!) and a tone I find really flattering. I love putting Essie Bahama Mama, which is my go-to berry shade, with Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in 08 Grandest Grape. I love the formula of these are they’re hydrating yet pigmented, so are a great option for inevitable drier winter lips.

You can’t do Christmas without a classic red, I think, and I love the combo of the two I picked (which are both budget friendly!). Models Own HyperGel in Red Lustre and Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Colour Lipstick in Cherry Pie make a great combination. They’re both great red shades and the lasting power on the lipstick will take you right through the festive period (aka the mince pie marathon).

Finally, if you like to stick to your nude shades, then the last two options are for you. Essie Lady Like is never far out of my site, as it makes for the perfect dusty pinky nude shade which is flattering on the nails. Paired with NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park, which is the most perfect pinky-nude in the world (my HG) – it’ll be all you ever need for a laid back, yet chic, option to the matching trend.

What shades do you like wearing the most?
