BEAUTY: Currently Testing #1

Here’s a new section that’ll pop up every now and again on my blog, just to showcase and give first impressions on some of the products I’m currently testing. It’ll be a mix of makeup, skincare, nails, body products and haircare which I think will be nice, instead of always keeping the categories separate.

First up is a nail combination I’ve mentioned briefly before, but have been seriously loving over the past two weeks or so. The CND Sticky Base Coat and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat are such a dream team for helping prolong nail polish and preventing chips. CND creates more of a smooth base for application and the top coat leaves such a hard and shiny finish, which is what I want! Adore them both.

The Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector was bought a little while ago (thank you, Space NK points) and I’ve only got round to properly testing it over the past 10 day. I apply it down the sides of my nose/cheeks and around my chin, and it does do what it says on the tin (tube?). When foundation is applied ontop, it really does give a blurred effect to skin and pores seem much smaller!

I do love a good body oil and a new one I’ve been trying is the Balance Me Toning Body Oil. It’s light and sinks in quickly, meaning you can just slick it on and go, which is something I love. Plus it smells wonderful, as all Balance Me products do! Bonus guys – you can get a free Wonder Eye Cream sample with any Balance Me purchase through Birchbox until the 26th August. Just use code ‘BBXBMLOVECATS‘*

As mentioned in a previous post, I’ve been testing the Elemis Tri-Enzyme Range and the one I’ve been loving this week is the Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Gel Mask. Similarly to the serum, it lightly exfoliates the skin to give it a bit of a boost. After 10 minutes, this leaves skin glowing and smooth, and I use it twice a week which keeps my complexion in check!

Finally, the Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil range has been constantly in my shower recently and I think I’m in love with it. The Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Shampoo leaves my hair silky smooth, but not greasy looking, same as the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Conditioner. They really make a great team and I’ve been using them pretty much every time I wash my hair! The last one from the range is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer, which is a new sort of product to me. It works as pre-style prep to give your hair more of a second day feel, rather than having super soft freshly washed hair. It doesn’t make it look dirty or anything, just like it has a bit extra to it. It’s love, you guys.
