BEAUTY: Favourite Winter Lipsticks

Hello! Today I’m bringing you the lipsticks that have found their way into my makeup bag this Winter. Now, they may not all be the conventional shades you’d expect from this time of year, but I never restrict colour to a specific season. Plus, bright lipstick against an all black outfit always looks good!

Starting from the left with a blogger favourite: Rimmel Kate Moss 107. Apart from using YSL Rogue Volupte no.12 Forbidden Burgundy, this is one of my favourite darker shades as it’s a beautiful dark berry/plum. For being a ‘drugstore’ lipstick, it lasts well and sits nicely on the lips without drying them out.

Next is my all time favourite lipstick: MAC Craving. I’m not sure what I love so much about this lipstick as it’s your standard mid-tone berry shade, but it seems to suit my skintone and goes with so many looks! I’m nearly at the bottom of this particular tube, so I’m hoping I find a new one on Christmas day!

A rather summery looking shade is next on my list: Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lip Colour in Calypso (swatch here). It’s a rather vivid coral pink and just looks wonderful against dark outfits. I won’t be as cliche and cringeworthy to say it gives a ‘pop of colour’, but errr, it kinda does.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t include a red, so YSL Rouge Volupte no17 Red Muse is my current red of choice. I typically go between this shade, MAC Red and Russian Red (swatches of all three here), but the creamy formula of the YSL one has been doing wonders, especially with the aircon at work. It’s just such a vibrant shade and is really flattering!

Finally, a new(ish) edition in the from of Topshop Beatnik. This is about as close as I’ll come to a nude shade, as it applies like a dusty rose version of my actual lip colour. It’s lovely to wear if you just want to look a little bit more polished, but without the added statement of looking like you’re wearing too much, if you get me.

So that’s the roundup of my current favourite Winter lipsticks, which you can carry right through to Spring and Summer. I think all of these shades are so flattering on my pale, ghost-like skin, so if you have a similar tone then make sure you check them out!
