Oh, conditioner. Did you know I used to avoid conditioning my hair as I was so paranoid about it looking greasy straight away? Well, no more as I’ve found a bunch that work with my fine hair and hydrate it without weighing it down. Following on in the fine hair series (see my shampoo post here) I’ve picked some in shower conditioners, deep conditioning treatments and leave in sprays which I use on rotation depending on what I think my hair needs.
Starting with the traditional conditioners, which I usually do reverse-washing style, one I use a lot is the Bumble and Bumble Seaweed Conditioner which is light and doesn’t weigh my hair down at all. I really love the Seaweed range! Alternatively, I use the Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Colour Safe Volumising Conditioner. You don’t need to use much of this and I always apply it to the last 1/3 of my hair, which leaves it soft and silky feeling but not greasy.
As for more intensive treatments, I do have a whole bunch that I love (such as the Bumble and Bumble Deeep Masque, Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment or any of The Body Shop Hair Butters) but will just mention my current favourites. A cheap and cheerful option and one I reach for all the time has to be the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Express Treatment Conditioner. This stuff smells divine and does such a good job! Well worth picking up next you’re in boots. Next is the Sexy Hair Big Sexy Hair Colour Safe Volumising Treatment, which I feel is a more intense version of the Dove one. Neither weigh hair down and work so well to give your hair a hydration boost – especially if you’ve been using the heat tools a bit more than usual!
Sometimes instead of using a conditioner in the shower, I’ll just spray in a conditioning treatment as a quick alternative (though often I use both!) I love these types of sprays as they always work so well and are perfect for us lazy people. As the Dove range is so good, I had to add the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Leave In Spray which, again, smells amazing and really conditions hair. You just shake it up, spray it a few times and you’re good to go! Finally, another wonderfully scented product and super hydrating formula is the Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner. I adore this stuff and it leaves my hair so, so soft! The Healthy Sexy Hair range is full of a lot of lovely products so is worth checking out.
So, they’re all the products I use throughout the week to keep my hair in good condition without weighing it down. Do you use anything similar or can recommend a product for fine hair?
