BEAUTY: Five for Tired or Dull Skin

I don’t know about you, but my skin is feeling a little lacklustre right now. It might be the Domino’s pizza and the fact that there’s a Subway two minutes from work, or it could be the weather – who knows? But, I’m on a mission to restore the glow back to my complexion and to restore it to it’s less dull status, so here’s what I’ve been using…

First up, if you’re skin is dull no matter how much water you drink: exfoliate! Giving your complexion a good (not harsh) scrub once or twice a week makes a world of difference. If I’m after a physical scrub, I’ll go in with Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser. It’s clay based, so draws out impurities (good for combo or oily skin) and buffs away dead skin cells to reveal a brighter skintone.

If I want an overnight exfoliator, my favourite is the REN AHA Resurfacing Concentrate. This orange bottle of wonder works as you sleep to give your complexion a real lit-from-within glow in the morning. It’s gentle, but works so well! I also occasionally pop on a brightening mask if my skin needs a boost, my top pick being the Elemis Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Mask. It works in 10 minutes and is perfect to use before date night or when you’re having a dull skin day and need a quick fix!

If you’ve exfoliated and you’re still not happy, adding a big dose of moisture often works miracles on tired skin. I always do this through a facial oil and the one I’ve been obsessively using is the NUDE ProGenius Treatment Oil. It adds radiance to the skin, but keeps it perfectly hydrated and sits well under makeup if you mix a drop in with moisturiser! An all round great products and one I shall repurchase.

Finally, being cursed with dark circles means that if I’m tired, that’s where I’ll show it the most. Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream is a lovely little number which helps brighten the whole area and makes your peepers look a little less sleepy. Definitely one to check out if, like me, you get the whole panda look going on!
