BEAUTY: Pale Winter Nail Shades

*really not happy with that second image!

Although my instagram may tell a different story, pale nail shades have been top of my nail polish drawer (does that even make sense?) recently. There’s something so nice about a dark wintery outfit and a nude or light nail colour, or is that just me? For those who stay away from the blacks and berry shades of AW, this post is for you!

Starting with the top of the swatches, and once I’ve mentioned many times before, Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish in Porchester Square is one of my all time favourites. The colour is somewhere between a lilac, nude and grey, the lasting power is awesome and it’s opaque in two coats. Perfect.

Second swatch down is the blogger favourite Models Own Utopia, which is like an off white lilac shade. I really do adore this shade as it looks chic on the nails and less stark than a straight up white. Third is Essie Ballet Slippers, a very soft white/pink shade which is ideal for those who like their polish to be very neutral. On me, it takes a good three coats to build it up, but it’s a really pretty shade on!

Next one down is Essie Lilacism, a winner for those who can’t quite let go of pastel shades. It’s the perfect purple if you don’t want to get too sugary with it, but it’s light enough to act as a neutral. Opaque in two coats, too. Second last is Topshop Ethereal, which looks lighter on the nails than it is in the swatch, but it’s a really sweet pink shade!

Finally, I had to throw in a grey and Ciate Chinchilla is one of my all time favourites. It’s slightly lighter than mid tone, but offers such a good alternative to your standard Autumn colours. I really adore this one and wear it quite a lot!
