BEAUTY: Recent Purchases #1

Hello! I picked up a few new bits of makeup recently (plus another giant haul which I’ll post about later!) so I thought I’d share what I’ve added to my stash!

First up, am I the only person who doesn’t really look in MAC anymore? None of their new collections really wow me and I feel like once you’ve got the staple pieces, other brands tend to take over. Oh, how I should change my opinion after stumbling upon these beauties. Now, MAC blushes used to be my favourite. Well Dressed was my thing for years, but I discovered other brands and moved on. I never tried their cream blushes until now and I wish I had done earlier! I picked up the shades MAC Something Special (a peachy tone) and MAC Posey (a raspberry pink) and they’re just lovely. The cream formula blends well and they stay on the cheeks for ages too! Another thing I picked up was the lovely MAC Ruby Woo lipstick, which I’m late to the game with as it’s quite the cult classic! It’s a wonderful matte blue toned red and I absolutely adore it, it’s been my go to lipstick for the past week or so now.

Next is a drugstore foundation. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I bought a drugstore foundation and it’s become one of my favourites. I’ve always went high end with my foundations after trying so many from the aisles of Boots and being deeply disappointed. But, recently, I know the formulas have been improved and I thought I’d give it another go. I went for Revlon ColourStay for Combination/Oily Skin (in shade Ivory) and I honestly can’t pick fault with it. It’s got medium, buildable coverage, a lovely matte yet natural finish and lasts all day. It really is great!

Finally is a staple in my, err, nail collection is the Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover. This stuff is a lifesaver for helping me quickly remove my polish, which I do on a more than regular basis. Sorry nails. I wouldn’t say it works in exactly one second, but it’s pretty darn quick!

So, they’re the lovely things I’ve added to my makeup bag recently. The foundation and blushes have barely left my makeup bag/face so I’d definitely recommend checking them out!
