BEAUTY: The Selfridges Beauty Haul

So, I said I didn’t find anything in the beauty sales but that might have been a bit of a lie. I stayed in on New Years Eve and in my protest/depression at not doing anything, I wandered onto the Selfridges website and well, sorry bank account. I’ll give you a quick rundown of what I bought then, shall I? Share the shoppers guilt…

First up is obviously the MAC Lip Pencils, of which I bought four, as I’d been meaning to for so, so long now. I’m determined to wear lip liner more as they do make such a difference to the wearability an overall lipstick look, I think. So, the shades I bought were Boldly Bare (a dusty pink-nude), Naked Liner (a light nude), Subculture (a brown-warm toned nude) and Brick (a bold darker red). I’m so excited to try different lip looks with them and really master a nude lip!

Next is Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation, which I eventually picked up after wanting it for a while. I tested it out yesterday and I rather like it! It’s got good coverage, is light enough for my skintone (shade 2) and feels really nice on the skin as it isn’t half as heavy as EL Double Wear. Will try it out more, but it’s love so far! I also picked up a replacement of my beloved Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara, as it’s been such a long-term favourite of mine for big yet natural looking lashes! Charlotte Tilbury was next on the list and really I should have picked up more! I got the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in So Marilyn, which is a perfect red but the swatch lasting power is wonderful! I’m excited to wear it properly!

Finally, I’m obsessed with Tom Ford Velvet Orchid, but I fancied something lighter for S/S so I went for Maison Martin Margiela Replica in Lazy Sunday Morning. It’s a fresh, soft and slightly floral scent which smells so nice. If a scent could be described as ‘pretty’, then that fits quite accurately! I’m not a huge floral fan, but there’s something about this I adore plus the packaging is just so minimal and divine!
