For my base, I’ve been trying out the Antipodes Mineral Foundation, which is the first mineral foundation I’ve ever used. I always thought they wouldn’t offer enough coverage or would look cakey like a powder, but I’m seriously impressed at how natural and glowy the Antipodes one makes my skin. I just swirl it on with their kabuki brush and I’m good to go! The Antipodes Translucent Skin-Brightening Mineral Finishing Powder is just as good and I love dusting some over my foundation when I’ve finished all of my makeup.
Afterwards, I cover my dark circles and any imperfections with Seventeen’s Phwoaar Paint, which is such a good concealer for the price as it makes blemishes etc almost invisible. I always go over my undereye area with a touch of liquid concealer and find Dior DiorSkin Nude Skin-Perfecting Hydrating Concealer does the job oh so well, taking away any cakeyness (that’s a word, right?) of the cream underneath.
On my cheeks, I used a few small dots of Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Peach Pop to give a natural flush. Then, I applied an old favourite, the Topshop Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Aura to my lids, blending the first three colours in to give a natural look. I love Topshop eyeshadows as they’re so good for the price! As for eyeliner, I’ve been testing out the new Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner which I’m still not 100% sold on. I can get it to work along the lashes if I use it really slowly, but find cat flicks really hard to do. I can sort of do them, but they’re just not as smooth as they would be normally, as the eyeliner dries down to look very dry, if you get me. The actual applicator is really well thought out though and the pigmentation is spot on, but I’m just finding the formula a little bit hard to work with unless I really take my time (and I’m a girl who’s always doing her makeup in a hurry).
Anyway, to finish, I’ll slick on a layer of Estee Lauder Double Wear Lengthening Mascara, which is one of my favourite mascaras for length, volume and making lashes really dark. Then, a lipstick which wouldn’t typically be something I’d reach for but am loving, is the Joan Collins Lipstick in Lady Joan (which actually comes integrated into a powder compact) as it’s such a pretty pinky toned red, and the formula is actually really nice and very pigmented.
So, that’s today’s look! My makeup storage is overflowing, so I’m trying my best to use up some older products as well as testing out some new ones, so you may see some ‘shopping the stash’ posts coming your way soon. What have you been using this week?
