BEAUTY: Top Winter Foundations

Sorry about the grainy image, didn’t look as bad on my laptop! Will replace it tomorrow.

Winter, to me, means a slightly heavier base with a satin or velvety finish is on the cards. Give me a skin perfecting formula, a matte lip and a whole heap of eyeliner and I’m good to go. So, today’s post is all about sharing my favourite four bases that I love using in Winter.

The lightest base on this list is the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, which is one of my favourites. Despite being chalked up as a tinted moisturiser, it does offer really good just-under-medium coverage, which evens out skin and blurs out imperfection. Ideal for those who want a light-feeling base, but need a bit extra something to achieve perfect skin.

Onto the more fuller coverage foundations, my all time favourite has to be the classic Estee Lauder Double Wear. Yes, it’s quite heavy, but nothing smooths out skin and covers everything like this velvety liquid dream. I’ve been through bottles of the stuff and will always repurchase it!

If your skin goes more towards the dry side in Winter, the RMK Creamy Foundation may be the one for you. It looks quite thick, but feels light on the skin and really covers imperfections leaving a satin look to the skin. I really rate this, even if the packaging isn’t ideal (hello finger prints).

Finally, a newer purchase is the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation. Phew. Once you get past the long title and the lack of accessibility in the UK, it’s a really great foundation. Full coverage it certainly is, but it’s long lasting (perfect for long, wintery days) and makes skin look oh so nice!
