collection: autumn/winter 2012/13 review part III

chanel – when i saw the first few photos on vogue, i was somewhat underwhelmed. but, as i went on i was pleasantly surprised. i think topshop will probably churn out a few patchwork chunky knits.
givenchy – i especially loved the makeup used during this show. everything looked so decadent and beautiful.
hermes – tailored outfits will always win hands down. give me a good pair of trousers over a flouncy dress any day.
isabel marant – i did quite like the western theme throughout and would love all of these pieces to be in my wardrobe, as i still think they’re girly without being overly so.
lanvin – lanvin’s collection was a bit of a mashup of metallics, embellishments, jewel tones and bright colours. but i am SO glad it was because it was all stunning.
louis vuitton – a completely over the top set, yes, but the detail on the clothes outshone any elaborate set. well done mr jacobs.
valentino – whenever i think of valentino, i always think of red and that leather laser cut dream of a dress is utterly perfect.
viktor & rolf – half it looked like pajamas and the other half was goth cape perfection. all of it killed me.
yves saint laurent – i like how many brands went for dark lipstick this year, i think it really compliments these looks. more beautiful tailoring from the man who put women in trousers in the first place.
