Since my skin is clear now (thank da lawd and medication) putting on my makeup has become a bit of a breeze. No longer do I have to spend way too long concealing every blemish or blending mega heavy foundation to feel better about my skin, I can just slap on some softer makeup and walk out the door (or just concealer, as I often do now, can you believe it?!). This bunch of makeup beauties and I have been spending quite a bit of time together recently, so I thought I’d run through them for my go-to soft makeup look.
Starting with my base, I’ve been back in love with the Laura Mercier Silk Cream Oil-Free Foundation. It really does give me super smooth looking skin if I apply a small amount and buff it in or put on a full face for an evening, it never seems to look cakey or heavy – just leaves me with a flawless looking complexion! On my cheeks I’ve been using the H&M Blush in Rosy Brown as it really does give the most natural, soft focus flush of colour which I am obsessed with! I’m also addicted to highlighter at the moment, so the Topshop Highlighter in Cresent Moon has been at the forefront of my makeup bag. You can go subtle or full on glow with this one and it’s just so gorgeous and flattering!
On my eyes, I’ve been keeping it simple with either the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study to give a wash of colour or using the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette. I highly rate this palette as it’s honestly so perfect for daytime and nighttime looks. I tend to use the shade ‘silk teddy’ in the corner and all over the lid with the shade ‘cashmere bunny’ in the crease to add definition if I’m having a low-key day. For my mascara, I think the Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara is such a winner, with one coat it gives very dark and fuller looking eyelashes and with two you can really pack in the drama!
Finally, depending on my mood, I’ll either pat in some of the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Stoned Rose or apply it properly for a stronger colour. I really adore this lipstick and I don’t think anything matches up to it in my collection, it’s just the perfect peachy-rose tone!
What are your makeup loves for when just want to be out of the door?
