hello! as you may already know, i do wear glasses. stupidly oversized glasses. not for hispter purposes, but because i am genuinely pretty blind and have been since approximately age seven. as my ray-ban glasses are so large, i have to adapt my makeup accordingly so my features aren’t completely swamped. so, i’ll run through what’s in my makeup bag right now…
even though this has nothing to do with glasses, i try to make my base as flawless as my skin will allow. typically i start with a primer such as the becca resurfacing primer (not pictured), then buff in my foundation with a real techniques brush. i’m loving NARS sheer glow foundation again right now, as it gives great coverage and really smooths out the skin. as you can see quite a lot through my glasses, concealing my dark circles is a must! i couldn’t be without my bobbi brown corrector, as it’s literally a godsend, with a touch collection lasting perfection concealer over the top (which has serious heavy duty power).
as for the rest of my eyes, and with them being quite hooded (i used to be told i had asian eyes, i wish!), i have to emphasise them or i feel like they just disappear. for eyeshadow, i’ve been really getting into using my stila in the light palette again, sweeping kitten all over the lid and smoking it out with one of the darker shades. i’ve worn cat eye flicks since i was about 14 so stila stay all day eyeliner pen does the trick. it’s one of the best felt tip style pens i’ve used, as it’s really black and does stay all day. my lashes are already pretty long (which is kinda annoying when you’re a glasses wearer, hello smudges), so i go for a thickening mascara. l’oreal lash architect mascara is one of my current favourites to use after i’ve curled my lashes with the shu uemura eyelash curler (which is amazing!).
adding a bit of colour to my face is a must, so for that i focus on my cheeks and lips. bobbi brown cream blush in calypso coral is bright but not too in your face but leaves a nice peachy tone on your skin. oh, for contouring i always use NARS laguna bronzer, as it’s great for pale complexions. i know i haven’t included any lip products in the above photos, but i always wear something! the one i have on below is a topshop lip bullet in joyride, which is a great bright cherry red!
so, that’s my every day makeup when i’m wearing glasses! most of the time i do wear my contacts, but my typical face looks like that above when i don’t. like an unintentional hipster. why did they have to make those glasses popular? whyy.
