I’m gonna sneak these in now before everyone and their mother posts the same thing and you all get bored of reading it. ‘New Years Resolutions’ as such aren’t something I really make, as I (like the rest of society) have a tendency to break them within the month of January. I think people put a lot of pressure on themselves to achieve something as soon as possible and most of the time it’s completely unrealistic. However, what I do like to do is to set myself some goals to achieve throughout the year so I can stay on target as much as possible – so here’s my list!
Goal One: Put More of Me in my Blog | I know this sounds ridiculous, as my blog is technically entirely about me, but I mean including more of me in it as the personal touch to a blog is really important. Whether it’s shooting makeup looks being worn or just including more action shots, I’d really like to show the person behind the blog a little bit more. I’ll obviously still include my typical flatlays and such, but just with a bit extra. This goes for other platforms too, so prepare yourself for more selfies on Instagram!
Goal Two: Look After Myself More | I’ve been saying I want to lose a stone for about six months now and what have I done to achieve this? Nothing. Absolutely zilch. So, this year I’m going to make an effort to look after myself a little bit more. I’m gonna definitely complete the 30 days of yoga challenge and pack more vegetables into my diet. I’m still going to have Dominos pizza and bake everything, but just try to make my main meals have more substance 99% of the time. I adore cooking (as can be seen on my snapchat: thelovecatsinc) so I know I can do this!
Goal Three: Improve my Skin | My skin was doing ok at the beginning of the year, but in the last month or two it’s went completely mental. I know it’s because I’m stressed with things outside of this blog, but it’s been really bad and it’s got me feeling quite down about myself. So, in an effort to improve it (and aside from making better food choices) I’m gonna stick to drinking 2ltrs of water a day, eat a bit less sugar and exercise a few times a week too.
Goal Four: Finish What I Start | Totally relevant to these goals, of course, but I’m definitely a ‘that’ll do’ kinda person. Outside of work, I have a tendency to start things with my full energy, then tail off into either not finishing a task or putting it off. I’m determined to complete more things on my to do list as I know I have the time to do it, I just need to stop procrastinating!
Goal Five: Switch Up My Blog Content | My blog is feeling a bit, dare I say, boring at the moment. I still like the content I post, but I’m not excited about it. Aside from putting more of me into my blog, I’m going to change my content slightly so I can find some inspiration in it again. My outfit photos will make a return (just need a photographer!), I’m gonna include more baking and more lifestyle photos if I can. I also might drop my content to 4-5 times per week instead of every day, as I need to remember it’s my hobby not my job and I only have weekends to take photos and plan content.
I’m looking forward to 2016, as I imagine a lot is going to change in every aspect of my life, so I hope it turns out well and I hope the same for you too!
