review: lancome hyrda zen neurocalm moisturiser

£36 for 50ml from lancome.com and in selected department stores

i appear to be on an endless quest for a suitable moisturiser to keep my combination skin (and therefore oiliness) in order. i’ve tried everything from low end to high end. nivea to clarins to clinique to kiehl’s. i’ve found they either make my skin feel greasy or don’t moisturise enough and make me feel like i haven’t even applied it. so, my latest research (and getting a sample from my sister) has lead me to lancome. they claim:

“The delicious Oil-in-Water texture melts onto the skin. It intensely moisturises and lastingly soothes the skin, leaving it soft, smooth and radiant. HYDRA ZEN NEUROCALM™ features a unique technology to provide intense, immediate and continuous moisturisation and soothe sensitive skin.”

after using it for a few days, it doesn’t feel greasy and i don’t have to use too much of it. on the website it says it’s for normal to combination skin, which, given the texture, i would say that’s an accurate fitting. it hasn’t broken me out (yet) and hopefully it won’t. i’m going to try it for a little while longer and see if it continues to match my current opinion
