I’ve had a lot of makeup loves this year, so it was quite hard narrowing them down, but here it is: my edit of my most adored makeup of 2014. I’ll keep the intro short and sweet as I’m sure you know the drill by now…
My favourite base product, which I’m sure I’ve been using for about four years now, has got to be the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. Yes, it’s heavy and full coverage, but nothing makes my skin look more perfected than this beauty. It really is an amazing foundation and a great one to have in your collection! I’ve also used the Bobbi Brown Creamy Corrector for my terrible dark circles every day I’ve worn makeup too. It’s honestly the only thing that counteracts the blue tones and makes the darkness look lighter, so I wouldn’t be without it!
I’ve been wearing NARS Blush in Douceur (which is apparently discontinued!) non-stop throughout Autumn, as it’s the most perfect natural pink shade. It’s longwearing and pretty, so is a great option for everyday! On my brows, I’ve used nothing but the Anastasia Brow Wiz as it’s one of the best matches I’ve found for my brows. The fine nib means I can both fill in and create precise strokes, making my brows look full and groomed (even though no one ever sees them!).
For eyes I’ve been addicted to my Lorac Pro Palette, as it’s just the best combination of shades. I adore pewter all over the lid and mauve/espresso in the crease for a defined look – so sad it isn’t more accessible in the UK! I also love the Charlotte Tilbury Palettes (especially The Dolce Vita) for how luxe they are. The shadows are buttery soft and so easy to blend, I honestly want to collect them all! The Clinique High Impact Mascara will forever be my favourite, but in the latter half of this year I’ve adored the YSL Shocking Mascara which I’m definitely getting the full size of soon. It makes my long lashes look thicker, more defined and very black – perfect!
On my lips, I’ve been using NARS Audacious Lipstick in Charlotte constantly since I bought it. It’s the berry shade I’d been looking for for months and I’m so glad they released it! It’s very expensive looking, if that makes any sense and the formula is just ideal, as it’s creamy and lasts a long time. For a red, I’ve been adoring Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte Lipstick in Red Carpet, as it’s a very bold red and is highly pigmented. It gives you the perfect 1940’s hollywood pout!
Aaand for the extras, Essie After School Boy Blazer has been on my nails pretty much for the whole of Autumn. Every other time I painted them, I had to pick this shade as I just couldn’t get away from it for long. It’s the perfect almost-black-but-not-quite navy shade that applies in two thin coats. Finally, for perfume, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid is the only perfume I’ve worn since I bought it in November. It’s warm and luxe and just delicious – bad perfume description, but you really must smell it!
