i’m sure you are well aware of mary katrantzou and her
stunning mix of prints and striking designs that sit on the fence between
fashion and art at times. she has been big news for a while especially as many
a-listers have been spotted in her designs from fern cotton to keira knightley,
but this season mary is mixing it up a bit. she is adding yet another string to
her bow and joining LA denim brand current/elliot for a twist with printed
denims.

last year the catwalks for 2013 were filled with statement
denims from eclectic prints to all sorts of colours so it seems this
collaboration is perfectly timed for the summer season. The
collection is huge perhaps as mary has never worked with denim before, but
don’t worry, it doesn’t look like it will be her last
either with other collaborations already lined up.

each of the pieces is themed with inspired postage stamp
motifs and discontinued bank notes, adding a little luxury to those staple
denims. my top picks for the collection would be the jeans and jackets, which are so beautifully printed that double denim seems perfectly acceptable! after all, a top tip from mary herself is that any pattern clash is good. so my advice would be to layer up those separates and don’t be afraid of the
designs bouncing off one another.

this long awaited collaboration has been rumoured since last
year and finally it is going to hit matches stores soon so check out the mary kantrantzou and current/elliot collection.
