Since last year and the beautiful Cara popping onto the modelling scene, eyebrows are having a bit of a moment. Rightly so, in my opinion, as they can completely frame your face and I tend to wear less makeup when I’ve groomed those caterpillars, so that can only be a positive. Since I’m growing my fringe out and no longer have a wall of hair to hide behind, my eyebrows have been my main focus. Especially as I have a high forehead (wahhh) and hooded eyes, they just draw some attention back to my features a bit, I think (I hope). So here’s the brand and products I’ve been loving to tame those beasts.
Rodial | This pencil is a recent addition to my collection, but one I’ve been throwing in my bag a lot when I’m running late and want to apply some makeup at work. With a hand brush on one side to groom your brows into place and a soft, yet durable, pencil on the other, the Rodial Glamobrow Pencil applies smoothly and creates life-like strokes to mimic hair and doesn’t look flat or too chunky.
Anastasia | The cult products I think everyone has tested, and for good reason, are from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I think the Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade was the thing that got me into brows, as, using a small angled brush, you outline the top and bottom and use a brush to buff the product into the middle – creating perfectly defined yet soft brows! I often use this and go in with the Anastasia Brow Wiz pencil, as it’s quite stiff and is great at filling in the part nearer the middle.
Smashbox | Finally, three pencils which are brand new releases from the LA based brand. The Brow Tech range offers a matte pencil (the Smashbox Brow Tech Matte Pencil) for filling in the base colour of your brows, a gloss (the Smashbox Brow Tech Gloss stick) to bring some life back to your brows and give them some definition and, finally, a highlight (the Smashox Brow Tech Highlight Stick) to give them the wow factor. I love the idea of this set, as brows (like your normal hair) have different tones are aren’t completely flat, so adding in a gloss and a subtle highlight really does create the illusion of fuller, softer, more defined brows than anything I’ve tried before!
