My Favourite Light Foundations | The Lighter Base Menu

Even though I typically opt for a medium-full coverage base, on days where my skin is a bit easier to conceal I love light foundations or tinted moisturisers. There’s nothing like having a non-heavy base, especially on days where you can’t really be bothered, as it makes your face feel so much fresher!

Starting with the new (ish) kid on the block, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Blur is a base that everyone’s been raving about over the past month or so. Aimed at those with oily skin, this cream-mousse texture of this foundation is designed to be oil-absorbing so has a more matte finish. I find I have to buff this in quite a lot, as it does cling more to dry patches on me, but I can’t fault the coverage or the ‘blur’ it gives to skin! Like real time photoshop, I’m not lyin’.

When I’m not feelin’ my full coverage foundation which is typically Estee Lauder Double Wear, then I love the Light version to give my skin medium coverage but a lighter finish. It still covers imperfections well and can layered and blended without fault – definitely one of my go-to bases for better skin days!

Aaand finally, the perfect option for Summer – the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser. Not only does it have SPF, but it hydrates skin while giving it a glowy finish. I find I have to powder my t-zone ever so lightly when I use this, as it is literally glow in a bottle, but the light-medium coverage is something I really adore so will 100% continue to use!
