Think Pink | My Top Pink Makeup: Lipsticks and Blush

I seem to be having a bit of a thing for pink at the moment – especially pink makeup. If it’s not blush pink clothes, it’s a bright pink lipstick or a rose coloured nail polish – I’m obsessed. This is a bit weird for me, as I’m typically a fan of more paired down tones, especially in my wardrobe, but in my makeup I’ve always been a fan of a pop of colour.

So, starting with blush, if you want something nice and bright, Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot is such a beautiful shade. Despite it’s slightly misleading name (I always think of orange when I think of apricots), it’s a bold almost fuchsia tone which looks pretty on, as you can wear it as subtle or as bold as you like. Next is a well used and loved classic MAC shade, the MAC Blush in Well Dressed has been one in my collection for years and I think the first MAC blush I ever bought (not this one in particular, that’d be gross). I love how pretty and natural this blush looks when you want a flush of colour.

Finally, another loved product is the Stila Convertible Colour Blush in Lilium. I go back to this time and time again as it’s the easiest colour to wear and totally brings your makeup together when paired with a nude-pink or lighter pink lipstick. The formula on this works well with any skin type too!

Moving on to lipsticks, if you’re a fan of those matte liquids, then the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo will be right up your street. It applies smoothly and looks very much like a pink-raspberry tone to me – beautiful for Spring! Next, if you prefer just keeping it simple with a balm, the Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter is a great option. Not only does it keep lips hydrated, but it leaves a wash of pretty pink which makes me feel like I’ve put in more of an effort than I actually have.

If you prefer lighter pinks, then the Tom Ford Lipstick in Blush Nude will be a good pick. It’s a beautiful formula and packaging, but you can read more about that here. Finally, a true fuchsia shade, the beautiful Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Electric Pink is one I definitely need to wear more. The Art Stick formula is really creamy but has fantastic staying power – I need to pick up some more of them!

What pink shades do you like? Are you more of a nude-pink or a bright hue?
