TIPS AND TRICKS: How To Love Your Blog Again

*sorry for reusing a pic!

You may (if you’re a long time reader or follow me on social media) have realised that I’m not 100% in love with my blog right now. I explained it a bit more in this post, but I’m feeling like it’s a bit of a chore and not as enjoyable as it once was. So, I’m on a mission to make myself love the ol’ blog again and thought I’d share a few ways it could be done…

Take A Break | I did this and felt much better. It gave me time to refocus what I was doing, establish a bit of a schedule and decide what I wanted to do with the blog. It’s refreshing to remove yourself from the blogging world for a few days and it’s actually taught me that I’m not gonna die if I don’t post every day or if I hit x amount of pageviews or if my follow number doesn’t go up by x amount each day. It’s not a big deal and it honestly has very little impact on my actual life, when I really think about it! Ah, sweet freedom.

Don’t Put Too Much Pressure On Yourself | This is where I fall down big time. When I started my full time job, I was very confident and thought blogging would easily slot in at the weekend (especially as my bf works seven days a week). But, I soon came to discover after around three months that it’s really not that easy to produce content every single day without burning out a little. I’ve decided to post 5-6 times a week instead of 7  now, as I was definitely putting too much pressure on myself!

Be Realistic | Similarly to the above, it’s best to be realistic about what you can achieve in the time you have. I always look at those beautiful blogs that have stunning photos and are the ultimate aspiration, and occasionally beat myself up that my blog isn’t like that. I need to remember that a) it’s often their full time job b) I don’t have the time, the money or the location to produce such beautiful content and c) I need to stick to what I’m good at and what my readers like. Don’t beat yourself up or compare your blog! We all have something to offer.

Plan Your Content | I was getting out of the habit of planning posts in advance, which was really messing things up as I’d come to take photos and feel a bit lost… which lead to me not wanting to bother at all. I’m a gurl who needs a good list and it honestly makes life so much easier when you know exactly what you’re doing (especially when you’re limited for time!).

Change It Up | One thing I’ve been planning to do is switch up my blog a bit. I’d love to include more lifestyle and more outfits, but it’s a logistical issue more than anything else. My blog design was also supposed to be changed back in May, but pipdig has been so busy doing all of your designs that mine has been put on the backburner – boooo. Hopefully he’ll have time to work on it soon! I’m excited to move to WordPress and have a new design though, as there’s nothing better than having something fresh to look at! Even if it’s just changing your colours or profile picture, it makes a difference!

How do you fall in love with your blog again?
