today: midi and pfw rantings

hello! as i said on my twitter, this is what i would have worn today if it wasn’t snowing. seriously, what is the weather doing?! i would really love the cold spell to end and for it to actually start being spring! but, back to the outfit, i was so unsure on midi dresses, as i thought they’d make me look short and dumpy, but with with heels i might be able to get away with it. this one is from shelikes and i, errr, like it a lot. the pattern is so pretty and hides lumps and bumps reasonably well, i’m impressed!
anyways, you may or may not have seen me complaining on twitter that i fainted on sunday! i know you’ll probably roll your eyes and say so what, but it’s never happened to me before and i totally face-planted a kitchen counter. first time meeting my boyfriend’s nana and that’s what i do in her house, great first impression helen. i now have a very sore nose (which my bf is surprised i didn’t break) and slightly wounded pride.
so, to cheer myself up i’ve been looking at all the shows from PFW. did you see valentino? oh sweet jesus it made me want to dress all girly again, everything came with a cute collar! i liked the oversized thang going on at stella mccartney aka queen of jumpsuits, but i can leave the pinstripes. no idea what was going on at YSL (what was with the hair/makeup combo?). yes to givenchy and their use of biker details and mixed materials. yes to celine, maker of lust-worthy coats, as bloody always. and yes to chloe with the perfect use of navy, grey and dark red. of course i can’t not mention my beloved isabel marant, creator of all things perfect, i want to wear everything she ever makes. i just need endless cash and i’m sorted!

i’ve also been looking at street style photos and daaaamn, i wish i could go or just hang around outside the shows (even though i’d feel significantly under-dressed). people’s blog posts have been inspiring me quite a lot recently too, as i’ve been in a bit of a fashion rut, especially when i came across cheapflights.co.uk blog post (partly on my hunt for some cheap rome flights, i’m going in may if i haven’t mentioned already), where they interviewed some parisian fashion bloggers. oh, paris, you always do everything better than everyone else.
