The nights are getting dark before 4pm, the mornings are colder and you realise that you’re stuck with this weather until next Spring (or around May, if you’re in the UK). Yup, it’s wonderful Winter heading our way and, as much as I love buying coats and boots, I often need a little pick-me-up to make those chilly days a little bit better. So, here’s the top things I do to make me feel more human and confident:
1: Exfoliate and Moisturise | Nothing makes me feel better than exfoliating properly and slapping on loads of moisturiser. I adore exfoliating my face using the amazing Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, which uses acids to lightly buff away dead skin cells revealing a smoother, brighter complexion. And yes, it smells just as you would imagine it to. For my body, I use those scrubby gloves (£1/£2 from Primark, you can’t complain!) and covering myself head to toe in Origins Smoothing Souffle Whipped Body Cream. This stuff smells like a vanilla (yet slightly minty) dream and the texture is so, so heavenly!
2: Curl My Lashes | I’m trying hard to not wear eyeliner every day, as I have been doing since I was 14 and I think it’s time to branch out into something new. So, to keep my peepers looking big, I’ve been remembering to curly my lashes which opens my eye area and makes me look more awake even though I definitely got out of bed 15minutes too late.
3: White Teeth and Red Lipstick | Having white teeth is rather important to me, as it just looks so much healthier than having teeth that are on the yellow side.
For this, I’ve been using Pearl Drops Lasting Flawless White Toothpaste, as it works to remove 100% of surface stains. I don’t drink tea, coffee or red wine, but there’s nothing wrong with having white, sparkly teeth! Another thing that makes that whole area look better is wearing blue-toned red lipstick The Mavala Lipstick in Poppy Red fits the bill perfectly, as it’s super hydrating and long lasting.
4: Face Mask and Nails | The ultimate pamper evening, right? I love a good clay mask to draw everything out and make my complexion feel so much better. The Caudalie Purifying Mask is fantastic for this, as it unclogs my pores and takes away any congestion. Essie is my favourite nail brand, so 9/10 I’ll reach for one of their polishes. I think this one is Style Cartel, but they’re all good!
