BEAUTY: Perfect Nude Makeup

I’ve been getting more and more into nude makeup lately. Of course, I still love a good red lip but the barely there, subtle shades have been creeping their way into my makeup bag and I’ve been welcoming the change. They’re great for days when you want to look a bit more polished, without having to make a huge effort, ie. the lazy girl’s best option.

Starting with my base, the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation has been a firm favourite with me since I bought it. Despite it being ‘light’, it still offers a good amount of coverage and does an amazing job at making the skin look more even. Definitely a good option for summer days when you want something lightweight but need any imperfections to disappear.

On my cheeks I’ve been loving NARS Blush in Amour, which is a lovely pinky shade. It imparts such a natural flush to the cheeks and it’s one of those products that blends well no matter how much you apply. Afterwards, I’ll run a bit of Benefit Gimme Brow through my eyebrows to give my face a bit more definition, as we all know what a difference brows make to the face (even if they’re under a fringe where no one can see them!)

As for my eyes, I’ve been thoroughly addicted to Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow in Brown Metal, which is a lovely metallic shade. It looks beautiful on its own, but recently I’ve been wearing it as a base under other shadows to give them a bit more of a sheen (and to up the lasting power!). Finally, I’ll apply a slick of NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Biscayne Park, which isn’t a shade I’d traditionally like but it really does look so beautiful on. It’s so much more than a ‘your lips but better’ shade, as it’s the perfect peachy-pink and sits on the lips like a dream.
