Hello! I remember reading the lovely Kate’s blog a while back (who am I kidding? I read every post. I’m like a skincare stalker) and she did a post on skincare combinations, which was endlessly helpful as I didn’t really combine too much skincare back then. But, since reading that post, I seem to have transformed myself into some sort of scientist and have set out to find the skincare combos that leave my skin look its best in the morning.
First we have a hydrating yet smoothing combination in the form of Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins and Nude ProGenius Treatment Oil. The former I received for Christmas and, as I’ve had issues with Origins products in the past, I put off using for a little while. On reflection, I wish I slapped it on my face that very evening, as it’s such a wonderful product! I’ve loved NUDE skincare for what feels like forever now, so when my boyfriend asked me what I wanted for Christmas, this was a given. The oil is so soothing, hydrating and leaves skin looking clearer. A definite thumbs up!
When combined, massaging in the oil first then applying a thin layer of the moisturiser, they work well to really treat skin, leaving it soft, clear and bright the next morning. If I’m having a bit of a ‘bleugh’ (technical term) skin day, then I’ll always reach for these two on a nighttime!
Next is a really brightening combo using Kiehl’s Powerful Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate and Yon-Ka Phyto 58. I’ve reviewed both in previous posts so I won’t go on too much, but they’re both stand out products! The Kiehl’s treatment uses vitamin C to bring more clarity to your skin and the Yon-Ka moisturiser has similar brightening ingredients to give your skin a massive boost. Together they form the ultimate brightening combination, getting rid of congestion, blemish scars and really gives your skin a bit of an overhaul!
Finally we have another Kiehl’s product in the form of Kiehl’s Midnight Recover Concentrate and REN Resurfacing AHA Concentrate. I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned these in many posts before, but they’re definitely worth the attention they get! The REN product is like an chemical exfoliator (not as scary as it sounds), which uses AHA’s to buff away any dead skin cells revealing bright and clear skin, which is great for dull skin days. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate is somewhere between a serum and an oil and really adds moisture to the skin while working to repair many skin issues (dehydration, uneven patches and blemishes come to mind!)
Together, they seem to have all bases of skincare covered. Hydrating, exfoliating, brightening, soothing, blemish fighting (both new ones and scars) and decongesting. They’re the ultimate dream team!
So they’re all the skincare combinations I’ve been loving and using at the moment, but I’m always discovering new ones so I’ll be sure to write another post with more! My boyfriend always says ‘you’re doing your skincare alchemy again, aren’t you’ on a nighttime, so I think it’s become quite a habit to mix products!
