- the dream team -
You may remember from a previous review (which you can read here) that I had mixed results with these two items - one I adored and one I couldn't get on with... until I combined them, that is.
The Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil are the only things I've been putting on my face every night for the last month or so and I honestly can't get enough of the duo!
Now, it does say on the bottle that you should/can combine the two products, but as I was testing each item individually previously, I didn't do this. I adored the Marula Facial Oil and bought the full size product as a result, as it was the silkiest most dreamy oil I'd tried in a very long time.
The Glycolic Night Serum, however, was a no-go on it's own, it broke me out without fail and left me with slightly irritated skin.
But, combined, one pump of the Serum and 3 drops of the Oil each night - with or without moisturiser afterwards - leaves me with the most amazingly soft and refined skin. My pores have significantly reduced in appearance so my skin (as you can see on the left) is really smooth and glowy.
I'm so addicted to the results that I've been using them constantly and it just seems to get better the more I use them too. This is probably due to glycolic being an AHA (an acid) as it works to buff off any dead skin cells and give your skin a brighter, more even appearance. Combined with a hydrating oil, you're onto a winning combination.
I would highly recommend picking these two products up and they also have a small try-it kit available here with those two products in if you didn't want to invest in the full sizes.
Or try combining an AHA and oil that you already have to see if you can achieve similar results. Even just introducing an acid to your skincare routine will make a huge difference to your skin texture and overall brightness!
Have you tried these two products before?
