BEAUTY: Makeup Favourites #2

There seems to be a soft, pink colour theme going on here (until you get to the NARS pencils, of course), but they’re the colours I’ve been leaning towards recently. I’ve been testing out some new things (mostly RMK –  I adore their Creamy Foundation and Recovery Gel so couldn’t resist trying more!), so thought I’d share as they’ve found their way into my favourites list after only a few weeks!

Starting with my base, I’ve been using the RMK Colour Control UV SPF 30 (in 02 – pink) which is a colour correcting primer. As someone with a bit of a yellow undertone, I like using pink based products to counteract it, as it makes for more of a neutral base. This pink toned one makes skin look so even and is just a great all round primer – the SPF 30 is a great bonus too! For my foundation, I’ve been using the only ‘drugstore’ foundation I like, which is the Revlon ColourStay Foundation. It’s got amazing coverage and is so long lasting, one I keep coming back to when I want a smooth finish.

I’ve also been loving the RMK Creamy Sheer Cheek Powder (in 02 pink beige), which gives a subtle wash of colour to the cheeks, or can be built up for a stronger look. It’s has a bit more of a sheen than I’m used to, but find it’s beautifully highlighting and flattering. To finish off my base, I dust over some RMK Translucent Face Powder (in Pearl), which gives the skin a natural, satin finish and doesn’t look cakey at all – which is such an important thing for me, especially under my eyes!

On my eyes, I’ve been loving MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection, as it’s the most beautiful soft-pink champagne colour. NARS Lip Pencils have been pretty much all I’ve been wearing recently, so the NARS Lip Pencil in Lohdi (a bright coral) and NARS Lip Pencil in Luxembourg (a hot blue-toned pink) have been in my handbag constantly. I love the contrast of a soft eye and blush, with a strong lip!
