TODAY: The Autumn Flats

You all know by now that the black and white are the most heavily featured shades in my wardrobe. They’re versatile, basic and practical which is just what I want. Of course, this extends to my shoe collection too. I’ve picked up a few pairs of flats for Autumn so, in an effort to include more fashion related posts that extend beyond outfit shots, I thought I’d share the ones that will be adorning my feet as of, well, now really.

As you can tell by looking in the shops right now, loafers are a huge trend for A/W. There’s already lots of beautiful pairs already out so I decided to buy into the trend early. The slightly masculine black pair (top photos, fifth down) are the Truffle Page Flat Loafers from ASOS, which I snapped up in the sale (and are still available!). I love the shape and how they’re a bit more substantial than a lot of other pairs, even if they make me feel like a gent.

Along the same loafer theme, the beautiful white Hobbs White Brona Loafer* was one I featured in a recent outfit post and a pair I’ll be wearing until they fall apart. I’d been looking for the perfect white flats for such a long time and so glad these popped up on my screen while browsing. They go with everything and add a little something extra to an outfit.

Two other trends that featured over summer but seem to have been carried on for Autumn are skater shoes and espadrilles. I’ve mentioned the Topshop Koala Espadrilles before, but they’ve been getting a lot of use out of me since I eventually snapped them up! They’re insanely comfy and make me feel like I’m one step closer to owning a pair of Chanel’s. As for skaters, if I’m not wearing my quilted H&M’s, I’ll go for these Missguided Atarfe Fringed Skater Pump‘s*, as they combine my two favourite things: fringe and chain. Plus, skaters are the easiest shoes to just shove on and go, making an outfit more casual and adding detail.

Finally, I wanted the Jenni Kayne D’Orsay Flats for so long, but at £300+ they’re an investment I wasn’t prepared to make. So when these croc print two part shoes popped up on ASOS, I added them to my basket before I could say ‘Jenni Kayne’. The ASOS Little Rock Ballet Flats tick all of the boxes and they’ve released them in a whole bunch of styles too. Might have to get some more…

What shoes or trends are you buying this Autumn? Let me know!
