Getting your base right is something that’s so important to me. I’m a firm believer in spending a few more pennies on the main part of your look and you can skimp on the rest. There’s a base combination I’ve been wearing non-stop recently, as it covers my flaws and dark circles like nothing else I’ve tried.
Starting with my foundation, the RMK creamy foundation (I’m shade 201) has been my number one choice since it landed on my doorstep. I’ve wanted it for such a long time, but hadn’t found many reviews so was a little put off. It’s only recently I decided to bite the bullet and place my order, and I’m so glad I did! It’s one of the most lovely foundations I’ve ever used and I’ve tried a lot. It’s medium-full coverage, hides flaws like a dream, evens out skintone, offers a natural looking finish and is so lovely to blend. It looks like it’d be heavy and greasy, due to how creamy it is, but it’s the opposite. It never looks cakey and doesn’t make my combination skin look oily. It’s literally perfect!
Now, to hide my awful dark circles (curse you genetics!) I’ve been using a mix of three products. This may seem excessive, but trust me when I say it’s the only way I can completely conceal them. To start with I use a corrector with a peachy tone to combat the blue undertones and my favourite is Bobbi Brown Corrector. I’ve been through so many of these and feel lost without it, as it makes such a huge difference.
Over that I’ll use my concealer of choice, which is currently Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer. It has a slightly peach toned concealer for under the eyes and a more yellow tone to conceal redness in blemishes and to even out the skin. It’s got quite a creamy consistency so blends well, really helping to cover everything.
Finally, as using such creamy products can make things look a little heavy, I apply a liquid concealer as this makes everything look more natural. My current option is the Origins Plantscription Concealer, which I buff out using a fluffy brush. To set everything I use a dusting of powder (literally the smallest amount) to blend it all in and smooth everything out. It’s honestly a life changing combo for me, as someone who is hugely paranoid and aware of my dark circles, I wouldn’t be without this three-step process! Do you use anything similar?
