BEAUTY: My Skincare Staples

Sometimes when my skin is acting up (usually if I’ve ate lots of sugar!), there’s a little skincare routine I like to turn to as I know it’ll bring my skin back to normal again. I think everyone should have these, a great set of products that you know work well with your skin, help with breakouts and restore it to its former glory. I’ll have mentioned these products a thousand times, but they’re worth their weight in gold in my collection.

I always reply on my staple cleanser which I use every night, the Emma Hardie Morninga Cleansing Balm. I switched to a different one (as I was testing it out for my blog) and my skin actually got worse when I stopped using EH. It’s a great smooth, balmy cleanser that smells divine and leaves skin super soft. I’m onto my third tub now, I love it that much, lucky it lasts six months.

For toner, I turn to the REN Clarifying Toning Lotion a few times a week as it helps a lot with congestion. It’s an exfoliating toner which lightly buffs away dead skin cells, helping to keep your skin radiant. One of my favourite moisturisers is the Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser, which is aimed at combination/oily skin. Even though my skin is more combination/normal now, I always use to it help balance the oily parts of my face out and reduce blemishes, which is seems to do well. I love how hydrating yet light this moisturiser is, so it’s a great summer option too.

For treatments, there’s two I always use. For the millionth time, the Balance Me Radiance Face Oil is a miracle product for getting my skin back to normal. It balances out oil, reduces redness, helps blemishes and hydrates the skin while making it look more even. It’s just the perfect facial oil and I’m using it up to twice a day at the moment. If my skin needs more of an exfoliating treatment, especially if I’ve got some blemish scars, then I’ll go for the Kiehl’s Overnight Biological Peel. It feels like the more gentle version of Liquid Gold and leaves skin soft, bright and smooth when you wake up in the morning.

Finally, my current favourite and most used eye cream has to be the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye. Kiehl’s make wonderful eye creams and I have two others by them in my collection, but this one just seems to work so well with my dark circles and helps smooth out the eye area. It works fantastically under makeup and my concealer goes on much better when I use it.

So, that’s my back to basics skincare routine. I know I can always rely on these products when my skin is acting up and they do really help to sort it out. Do you have any skincare staples?
